Today, you were ripping and running. Jumping and playing, room to room. Even sliding down the stairs like a big girl, but a year ago this time you were just getting accustomed to what we called home. Today, mommy and daddy packed. They wiped, they cleaned, they boxed. You, you helped sort clothes with me, although you chose what pile everything went in, and I let you because you were so proud helping mommy and when you turned around I placed the white shirt in the whites, and not the color pile like you originally did. Daddy moved the beds, and when something rolled off one, you ran to the other side yelling "I got it, I got it" I smiled so bright in the inside as I always do when you show how smart and amazing you are. Then, the one part came, the part I had been holding off on since packing started. Mommy had to peel your stickers off of your wall. The wall art that all meant something in its own little way. How proud I was to make that wall for you, and how excited I was that you would be able to play around it. Each sticker on that wall was put up with you in mind. On Saturdays, we would sit by that wall, I would read the quotes to you and point to the words. I would point to each letter in your name, then explain to you how we came up with your name. I would point out the different butterflies and their bright colors, I would tickle you in between all of this, and you would smile with your eyes back then, because you were so little...with time that turned into giggles and hugs and real smiles. Right now you don't know what that wall meant, or won't remember what it looks like but I made sure I took enough pictures of your last time standing in front of it, your last time running back and forth down that hallway. This time when I took the picture you were able to smile with your teeth, and you were able to scream out the word cheese. You were able to show me that peeling every sticker was going to be worth it. Because as I peeled each letter, each butterfly I remembered each moment we shared in that special corner.
Dealing with biracial hair is a task in itself, it literally took me years upon years to even feel comfortable enough to wear my hair down. I always used the wrong products that either weighed it down, making it appear to be too oily, or would coat my hair in layers of the strongest super hold aerosol hairspray I could find, in a desperate attempt to maintain the look I left the house with. ANYONE with curly hair KNOWS that struggle, ya know, leaving the house with perfectly shaped coils, only to arrive at your destination resembling a lion, or a younger version of Michael Jackson with his afro. Oh, the joys of shrinkage! Due to my endless search for that perfect product and my obsession with buying and trying new things with pretty labels - I finally found some good products and a routine that is working wonders for me. 2 important factor lead to easy manageable hair, I researched to figure out what "type" of hair I have, and what are the best products to manage it. Thankfully, I have finally learned how to manage and most importantly EMBRACE my curls. Click the link to see some of my favorite products and to jump over to one of my favorite hair websites.
Happy Friday and it's Halloween!! Decided today to share an amazing song with you all that I have legit been obsessing over. This song makes me so happy and so excited. Peyton and I can have dance parties to it, or I can drink a bottle of wine and dance around the front room by myself....or dance in the car out of control...again by myself..or go out with my friends and request it!!
Point is- the song is so awesome you can listen to it and enjoy it anywhere, in any situation!!
Take a listen, enjoy your weekend and don't do anything I wouldn't do :)

Hello All! I figured with a busy life, and a busy brain I needed to figure out a sure way I could stay up to date on my posts, and always have a fun topic. With that being said, I've decided each day of the week will have a special theme, I know, fun, cheesy, and SOOO Tattianna-like LOL!
So as cliche as it sounds "Cheers" to the first Thirsty Thursday blog post!
The drink of the day is my new found favorite....SANGARITA! Such a fun twist on the fruity and smooth Sangria by spicing it up with Tequila to give it a margarita kick. Click "Read More" to see the recipe and instructions!
